We are pleased to share a new publication by our Steering Committee member, Susan Murphy, co-authored with Maeve McGandy, titled “Localisation and Locally Led Development in the Post-Consensus Era: Transformation, Stagnation, or Annihilation?”, published in the European Journal of Development Research.

👉The article explores the rise of locally led development (LLD) in the context of today’s global polycrisis. Drawing on an analysis of 32 institutional donors, the authors critically examine how localisation and LLD are recognised, enabled, and constrained within contemporary development policies and practices.

A timely and important question is addressed in the article:
❓To what extent do institutional donors recognise and operationalise LLD and localisation within their development policy frameworks?
