euromemo group poses questions to european parliaments' parties

EuroMemo Group addressed the presidents of the European Parliaments’ Parties participating in the forthcoming elections asking for their views on critical European policies.

More specifically and on the basis of EuroMemorandum 2024, we have asked the following questions:

  1. Do you see the need for a policy shift in the EU macroeconomic environment? What would be the elements of such a shift – with particular regard to the following problems: disparities, inequality, and poverty, climate and environmental crises, shortcomings of the EU fiscal governance framework?
  2. How do you intend to stop, mitigate and progressively overcome the crises of employment, distribution and social reproduction?
  3. How do you assess the development of convergence/divergence between EU Member States and how do you intend to accelerate convergence?
  4. How do you intend to prevent the European Commission’s plans for carbon capture utilisation and storage from becoming a danger to socio-ecological transformation? How do you intend to ensure that the target of a 90% net CO2 emission reduction compared to 1990 by 2040 actually becomes reality?
  5. How can human mobility become an opportunity for the European Union and at the same time help the EU to mitigate and resolve global problems? In particular, how do you want to change the EU management and regulation of migration?
  6. In your opinion, how can the EU help to ensure that the war in Ukraine and the war in the Middle East do not escalate further, but are stopped and brought to an end? What do you want to do to ease the confrontational development of relations between the West and China?

We will publish the parties’ answers on our website.
