The EuroMemorandum 2024 is out!

'How should the EU cope with the polycrisis?'

The 2024 EuroMemorandum has just been published.

As is customary, it draws on the discussions and papers presented at the 29th Annual Conference held in September 2023, organized by the EMG and the Univ. of Naples.

The 2024 EuroMemorandum is titled “How should the EU cope with the polycrisis?”.  It follows the line of argument already presented in the 2023 EuroMemorandum concerning the ‘polycrisis’, i.e. the multiplicity of crises facing the EU, its inadequate and often misconceived policies to deal with them, and the urgent need for alternative proposals.

More specifically, the 2024 report looks into the following areas.

  • Macroeconomic and social issues and policy developments over the past year, discussing in particular the case of Italy (chapters 1, 2 and 3)
  • The policies of the European Green Deal, focusing on Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (chapter 4)
  • The global issue of human mobility and migration (chapter 5)
  • The implications of geopolitical tensions and conflicts in Europe and beyond (chapter 6)
