Marica Frangakis is an independent researcher. She comes from the banking sector, where she has served in the Research and Planning Division of the Agricultural Bank of Greece and in the Asset and Liabilities Management subsidiary of the National Bank of Greece. Under the SYRIZA government, she served in the Board of Directors of ALPHA bank, as a representative of the Ministry of Finance. She is a founding member of the Nikos Poulantzas Institute in Athens and a member of the Board. She has close connections with civil society organizations such as the Corporate Europe Observatory and the ATTAC network. Her research interests include macroeconomic policy, governance, privatization, banking and finance. She has published widely in these areas.
